VST was not founded in a lab or a venture capital portfolio. It was founded in the field, by the people who felt the gap most acutely.

Our founders served in environments where commercial drones failed — proprietary firmware locked to foreign supply chains, fragile hardware not built for combat conditions, and zero integration with the software tools operators actually used. The gap between what was available and what was needed was costing missions.

Rather than wait for the defense industrial base to catch up, VST's founders left their careers to build what they wished had existed downrange. Every design decision — from airframe geometry to payload interface to software architecture — was made with a single standard: would this hold up in the field, under fire, in the hands of an operator who can't afford a failure?
